Grenada lake is a paradise for those who like to fish, boat or camp.
The primary purpose of the lake is flood control. Although Grenada lake is known as one of the nations best crappie fishing lakes. Hosting fishing tournament from Cabela's Crappie USA Tournament, Bass Pro Shop's Crappie Masters Tournament, Southern Crappie Angelers Tournament, and the Magnolia Crappie's Club Tournament. Grenada lake is host to the annual Thunder On Water Safe Boating Festival. Activities include a Childrens Fishing Rodeo, amusement rides, rodeo, food venders, antique car show, artist and crafters booths and fun for the entire family. Hundreds of boats fill the waters as spectators line the beaches and hillsides to view an unbelievable fire works display to get the festival started. Thunder on Water kicks off the weekend of June 7th. Make plans early to attend, there are plenty of motels in the area, recreational vehicle parks and primitive camping areas are available. And best of all it's Free.

![]() Grenada Lake has several pavilions to accomodate a large crowd. As you can see, there is ample seating and tables. The north end pavilion has four tennis courts, a fenced playground for the children, a basketball court, three baseball fields and a nature trail. Area should be booked in advance. Nature Lovers will find Grenada Lake and Hugh White State Park has an abundance of wildlife. Nature trails bring hikers, bird watchers and animal lovers close to many species of animals, deer, wild turkeys, raccoons, opossums, owls, hawks and bald eagles. Oh and snakes. Caution should be taken when hiking during the spring and summer months. On the lighter side, here's a picture of Snake Road.
