Dr. Paul Gard...Painter...Pottery...Wood Sculpture

Dr. Paul Gard
A native of Louisianna, Dr. Paul Gard is a man with many faces. A retired pathologist, surgeon, an artist, stone work, a maker of pottery and wood sculpture.

Paul Gard started painting at age five. As a child, Paul was fascinated with painting pictures of cars and airplanes. At 82 years of age, Paul Gard is still honing his talents.

Being "On Call" as a practicing surgeon and pathologist, Dr Paul spent his nights and wee morning hours doing paintings and sculpture to unwind.

Having painted over 1000 works of art, Paul is busy every day in his workshop creating art, hand made pottery or wood sculpting.

We are very fortunate to have Dr. Paul Gard as part of our artist community here in Grenada, Ms.

To quote Dr Paul Gard concerning his pottery...

This is Stoneware, born of stone, pulverized by weather and water to clay, shaped by hand, dried and fried to 2000-2400 degrees Farenheit. It will last more than a thousand years "intact or broken" once fired.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it.
