Hideaways
Off the beaten path, privy to area locals are places such as, Booga Bottoms, Po'Monkeys, The Shack-up Inn,
Taylor Grocery and numerous Delta Juke Joints cookin' up good soul food and serving a mess of Delta Blues.
One of my favorite spots is the "Shack-Up Inn" outside of Clarksdale, Ms.
So you think there's nothing to do, think again! Located on the old Hopson Plantation, the Shack-Up Inn
is a step back in time to the old plantation days.
Simply, make a reservation, pack a few clothes, buy groceries to take with you (include beverages of your choice)
show up and enjoy plantation style living.
While you're there, drive a couple of miles up the road to Clarksdale and visit Ground Zero for top notched blues
acts. Also see, the Blues Museum, Cat Head Delta Blues and Folk Art and other various blues attractions.
Get away from it all at the Shack-Up Inn
Sitting alone in a cotton field outside Merigold, Ms is Po' Monkey's Juke Joint. Don't let the name or the looks fool
you. Tourist from all over the world have come to enjoy the blues and southern hospitality at Po' Monkey's Lounge.
